Layout settings

Overview

The Layout tool controls the two elements that appear on every page: your navigation and your footer. Because they are shared, you set them once here rather than adding them to each page.

Navigation

1. Open Layout for your site.
2. Choose a navigation style from the library.
3. Configure its content - typically links to your pages, plus your logo and any call-to-action button.

Footer

Pick a footer style and fill in its content, such as links, legal pages, and social links. Like the navigation, the footer is applied across the whole site.

Generate with AI

The Generate with AI button in the Layout tool picks the best-fitting navigation and footer for your site and fills in their links for you.

It bases its choice on your site context: your branding (font preset, accent colour, spacing density, card radius, button shape, and dividers), the pages you already have, and the kinds of sections already used across those pages. It only ever chooses from the navigation and footer styles in the library, and it maps links to your real pages. If you do not have many pages yet, it falls back to a sensible minimal set rather than inventing pages.

If you have published your privacy and cookie policies, the generated footer links to them automatically.

Your navigation and footer are built in the preferred theme set in Branding (light or dark), so they match the rest of your site.

How to use it

1. Open Layout for your site.
2. Click Generate with AI and wait a moment while it works.
3. Review the navigation and footer it staged in the preview.
4. Click Save to apply, or leave the page to discard it.

Generation is non-destructive. The result is staged exactly like a manual change, so nothing is written to your live site until you press Save. You are free to fine-tune the links and styles afterwards, or discard the suggestion entirely.

How it counts against your plan

Each successful generation uses one AI copy generation from your monthly plan allowance (or your trial allowance). It is not counted as a page generation. Generating again uses another, even if you did not save the previous result, so generate when you are ready to review. If you have run out, the button is replaced by a prompt to subscribe.

Why navigation and footer live here

You will not find navigation or footer blocks in the page section library. Keeping them in the Layout tool ensures they stay identical on every page and update everywhere at once.

Content width

Sections are centred within a consistent content width so your pages stay aligned and readable across devices.
