Connect a custom domain

Point your own domain at your Promino site by adding a single DNS verification record.

Updated Jun 24, 2026

Overview

Every site comes with a free your-site.promino.app address. To use your own domain, you add a single DNS record so Promino can verify you own it, then your site is served on that domain with HTTPS and edge delivery.

Prerequisites

  • A domain you control.
  • Access to your domain’s DNS settings, through your registrar or DNS host.

Step 1 - Add your domain in Promino

  1. Open Settings for your site.
  2. Find the Custom Domain card and enter your domain, for example example.com.
  3. Promino generates a unique verification token and shows you the DNS record to add.

Step 2 - Add the verification record

Create the following TXT record at your DNS provider:

Type: TXT
Name: _promino-verify
Value: prmn_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Use the exact token shown in your dashboard as the value. The verification token expires after 7 days, so add the record promptly.

Step 3 - Verify

  1. Save the record at your DNS provider.
  2. Back in Promino, click Verify. Promino checks for the record and keeps polling automatically.
  3. Once the record is found, your domain is connected.

DNS changes can take a little while to propagate - usually minutes, but up to 48 hours in some cases.

After verification

Your site is served on your custom domain over HTTPS. Requests to your old promino.app subdomain redirect to the custom domain so you have a single canonical address.

Troubleshooting

  • Verification not completing - double-check the record name is exactly _promino-verify and the value matches the token in your dashboard.
  • Edited the wrong zone - make sure you are editing the authoritative DNS for the domain.
  • Token expired - if more than 7 days have passed, start the process again to get a fresh token.
