Publish your site

Overview

Every page in Promino has two versions: the draft you edit and the published copy that visitors see. Your edits stay private until you publish. When you publish, Promino copies your draft into the live version and refreshes the edge cache so changes appear quickly.

Draft vs published

A new page starts as a draft and is not visible to the public.
Once published, the page is served from a separate live copy. Your visitors only ever see published content.
After you publish, any further edits create unpublished changes. The Pages list shows a Published / Draft badge so you can see which pages have edits waiting to go live.

Publish a page

Open the page in the editor.
Make your changes and review them in the preview.
Click Publish.

Publishing records the time it went live and updates your site so the new content is served.

How your changes go live

Promino serves published sites from the edge for speed. When you publish, it refreshes (revalidates) the cached version of the affected pages, so updates typically appear within moments. Static assets like images are cached aggressively for performance.

Multilingual sites

If you have set up other languages on the Scale plan, publishing a page also generates its translations automatically in the background. You can then review and fine-tune each language in the editor. See Translate your site into multiple languages.

Your shared navigation bar and footer are managed in the Layout tool, not on individual pages. Publishing a page does not change them - update the Layout when you want to change site-wide navigation or the footer.

Search engines and AI

Publishing also keeps your search-engine files up to date automatically. Promino generates a sitemap, a robots.txt, schema.org structured data, and an llms.txt file for AI tools - all from your published content, with no setup required.

Tips

Use the preview to check a page before publishing.
Publish each page you have edited - a draft edit on one page does not affect others.
If your site shows as unavailable to visitors, check your plan and billing status - an inactive subscription takes a site offline.
