Set up a custom 404 page

Replace the default "page not found" screen with your own heading, message, and call to action.

Updated Jun 24, 2026

Overview

A custom 404 page is shown when a visitor lands on a URL that does not exist on your site. Promino lets you replace the default with your own heading, message, and a button back to safety.

Availability

The custom 404 page is available on the Grow and Scale plans. On Launch, visitors see Promino’s default not-found page.

Configure your 404

  1. Open Branding for your site.
  2. Find the Custom 404 Page card.
  3. Fill in your heading, message, and a call-to-action button.
  4. Choose a light or dark theme, then save.

Field limits

  • Heading - up to 60 characters.
  • Message - up to 160 characters.
  • Button label - up to 30 characters.
  • Button link - must start with / (a path on your site) or https://.

How it appears

Your custom 404 renders inside your site’s navigation and footer, so it feels like part of your site rather than a dead end.
