Password-protect a page

Lock a page behind a password so only people you share it with can view it.

Updated Jun 24, 2026

Overview

You can require a password to view any page - useful for client previews, private drafts, or members-only content.

Protect a page

  1. Open the page in the editor.
  2. Open Page Settings.
  3. Turn on Password protect this page.
  4. Enter a password.
  5. Publish the page to apply the protection.

What visitors see

When someone visits a protected page, they see a branded unlock screen and must enter the password to continue. Once unlocked, their browser remembers it for about 30 days, so they will not be prompted again on every visit.

Security

Passwords are never stored in plain text. Promino stores a securely hashed version, and the password is checked at the edge when a visitor unlocks the page.

Removing protection

To remove protection, turn off the password toggle in Page Settings and publish again.
