AI-drafted Terms and Conditions

Use the guided wizard to draft Terms and Conditions from a vetted template, then review and publish them yourself.

Overview

Unlike your privacy and cookie policies, which are generated and served automatically, Terms and Conditions are a binding contract. Promino does not write contract law for you. Instead, the Legal tool walks you through a short questionnaire and uses your answers to fill and adapt a vetted Terms and Conditions template. The result is an editable draft on a normal page at /legal/terms that you review and publish yourself - it is never published automatically.

This is not legal advice. Generated Terms may be incomplete or inaccurate for your situation. You must have them reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publishing or relying on them.

Drafting your Terms

Open Legal for your site and use the Terms & Conditions card to start the wizard. It asks for:

  • What your business does - a short description used to tailor the wording.
  • What you offer - whether you sell goods, provide services, or are informational only. This decides which clauses, such as orders, payment, and refunds, are included.
  • Your refund stance - summarised only when you sell something.
  • Whether visitors can create accounts - adds clauses for registration, user content, and termination.
  • Governing jurisdiction - prefilled from your legal details when available.

Your contact details are reused from the Legal details card where you have already provided them.

Acknowledging the draft

Before generating, you must confirm that you understand the draft is AI-generated, is not legal advice, and must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer. You acknowledge this again when you publish the page. Re-drafting clears your acknowledgement, so you confirm a fresh review before the new version can go live.

Reviewing and publishing

The wizard saves the draft to your /legal/terms page and opens it in the editor. Read it carefully, edit anything that does not fit, and publish it like any other page. The publish step requires the acknowledgement checkbox before the Publish button is enabled.

Counting towards your plan

Each successful draft counts as one AI copy generation against your plan’s monthly allowance - the same allowance used by AI copy and layout generation. If you have none left, drafting is blocked until your allowance resets or you upgrade.

Linking to your Terms

Once your Terms page is published, using Generate with AI in the Layout tool will add a Terms and Conditions link to your footer alongside your privacy and cookie policies.
