Set your website language

Choose the language you build your site in. It guides the AI copywriter, sets the language of your published pages, and is the source for any translations.

Overview

Every Promino site has a website language - the language you build and write in. It defaults to English, and you can change it at any time. The language you choose does two things: it tells Promino AI which language to write in, and it sets the language of your published pages for search engines and screen readers. If you translate your site, this is the source language everything is translated from.

Change your website language

  1. Open Localisation for your site.
  2. In the Website language card, choose your language - start typing to filter the list.
  3. Your choice saves automatically.

How it affects AI generation

When you generate a page or rewrite a section, Promino AI writes every headline, paragraph, button, and label in your chosen language. Set the language before generating so the copy comes out right the first time. You can also pick a language while creating your first site during onboarding.

How it affects your published site

Promino sets the lang attribute on your published pages to match your chosen language. This helps search engines serve your site to the right audience and lets screen readers pronounce your content correctly, which supports accessibility.

Translating into other languages

On the Scale plan you can publish the same site in several languages. Add languages in the Localisation tab and Promino AI translates every page automatically when you publish. See Translate your site into multiple languages to get started.
